Friends of Our Chalet raise money to support the oldest of the world centers, Our Chalet, opened in 1932. Built near the village of Adelboden, high up in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland, this alpine retreat has given Girl Guides and Girl Scouts the opportunity to strengthen bonds of international friendship, meet rugged outdoor challenges, and understand and appreciate the value of the multi-cultural world in which they live, all while enjoying a beautiful, mountainous region of the world. Our Chalet hosts important leadership development experiences like the Helen Storrow Seminar where young women from around the world can come together to explore meaningful topics and develop projects that will change our world. Friends of Our Chalet support these experiences by providing travel scholarships, fundraising for improvement projects, raising awareness, and providing funds to ensure the experiences of Our Chalet are enjoyed for years to come.
