Our Support through Grants
We support girls and young women to grow, learn and contribute through global engagement by providing grants for programs and projects of WAGGGS and GSUSA: During the last triennium, our grants supported:
Travel & Scholarships- Travel scholarships for Girl Scout and Girl Guides to volunteer in global leadership opportunities
- Opportunities for girls and young women to attend educational sessions at world centers
- Camperships and travel grants for USA Girl Scouts Oversees
Events- Juliette Low Seminars to support global leadership development that were conducted virtually and produced 140 projects reaching over 20,000 girls
- GSUSA Virtual Global Roundtable to discuss the value of girl-led organizations that were attended by over 100 participants from 20+ countries
- GSUSA Global Compact Research on the value of girl-only organizations
WAGGGS Development Fund- New Countries Campaign to aid additional countries in joining the global movement
- Stop the Violence Campaign to end violence against girls and young women worldwide
- Capacity Building Campaign to provide an assessment tool and global volunteers to support member organizations in growing their membership
- New volunteer support system and procedures to provide volunteers with regionally relevant materials
- Unrestricted donations by Olave Baden-Powell Society supporters to fund operations and programming
Equipment and Program Materials- World Centre server upgrade and cloud backup
- Capacity Building framework materials
In FY 2021, our grants reached an all-time high of $864,962. They were focused on supporting WAGGGS Development Fund projects and operations and GSUSA Global Compact Research, providing funds to keep the World Centres operating during Covid and ready to open in 2022, and supporting virtual programming and events such as:
- Virtual programming from the World Centres
- Interpretation and other support for the World Conference
- Online resources for girl ambassadors to prepare and participate in the UN Conference on the Status of Women
- Online resources, virtual programming and virtual troops for USA Girl Scouts Overseas
